Winton Office
Our most remote office is located at Winton in Outback Central Western QLD. Winton has approximately 1,000 residents in the Shire and in terms of the other main office locations it is located approximately 14 hours north-west of Brisbane, 6 hours south-east of Mount Isa, 7 hours south-west of Townsville and 6 hours west of Emerald.
The Winton area boasts some of the richest sheep and cattle grazing country in the State and therefore most of the economic activity is based around primary production along with opal-mining. Tourism industry developments in recent years have seen the construction of the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum of Natural History which is home to the world’s largest collection of Australian dinosaur fossils. Winton is also the home of Waltzing Matilda with the North Gregory Hotel being the venue for the first public presentation of Banjo Patterson’s famous poem. The airline QANTAS was founded in Winton in 1920 and the town is also the venue for the famous outback dunny derby!
The O’Regan and Partners office in Winton has one permanent staff member, Sharon Grotjahn. Accounting, Taxation and Audit Services are provided to personal and small business clients as well as not-for-profit associations. Bookkeeping services are also provided. The office is heavily involved in community activities and is regularly visited by Peter O’Regan and other firm members.
